Your browser does not support iframes.
Remember last week, when Stephen Strasburg hit his first career home run and proceeded to take his sweet time rounding the bases ("officially" 26.15 seconds according to Baseball Prospectus's Tater Trot Tracker)? Well, Jordan Zimmermann nearly upstaged him on Monday with his own slowwwwww trot following his own first career HR...
Apparently Michael Morse is on Twitter
Welcome to Twitter, Michael Morse? Even more important than the question "Will Mike Morse return to the Nationals lineup on Friday?" is the question "Is @MLBeastMode38 really Michale Morse?"
Still trying to verify, but the pro-Heat Tweets seem to be a dead giveaway.

Washington Nationals infielder Chad Tracy will require surgery for a torn groin muscle and is expected to be sidelined at least six weeks and perhaps longer.
Tracy, who leads the major leagues with nine pinch-hit RBIs, was hurt Saturday. A specialist in Philadelphia determined surgery was necessary after Tracy had an MRI Tuesday, and the operation will be performed Thursday.

"We hit a hot team at the wrong time. We’re still in first place. We have to go out there Friday and say: We’re still in first place. We’re still the team to beat." (Ross Detwiler, via Washington Post, 5/31/2012)

Slugger Morse might rejoin Nationals this weekend
The injury-plagued Washington Nationals have some good news on the medical front for a change - outfielder Michael Morse might be back this weekend.

Omar Infante it a bloop single behind second base between center fielder Rick Ankiel, shortstop Ian Desmond, and Espinosa. Espinosa reached out to make a an over the shoulder basket catch to make the out, and then dove over Desmond to avoid running...
MASN Guest Post: Nobody Is Second Guessing The Gio Gonzalez Trade Now
When the Nationals traded four major prospects for Gio Gonzalez this winter, many fans in D.C. were hesitant about the potential reward such a risky move could bring.
Gonzalez, 26, had two All-Star caliber seasons under his belt, and was one of the best left-handed strikeout pitchers in baseball, but some wondered about his potential to be an elite pitcher moving into the future...
Edwin Jackson’s Underrated Season
When people talk about the Washington Nationals’ outstanding pitching rotation, they immediately mention Gio Gonzalez and Stephen Strasburg, and with good reason. Gonzalez has been the best pitcher in the NL this season, and Strasburg continuously regarded as the best young pitcher in baseball. Even Jordan Zimmermann is mentioned before the guy that is having an unbelievably underrated...
Nats' Morse ready for rehab assignment
Although the Washington Nationals are a first-place club, they've done it thus far without the help of slugger Mike Morse, who hit .303 with 31 home runs last season. But the 30-year-old is set to begin his rehab stint and return to Washington.

The Bryce Harper Fathead Has Arrived!
I'm pretty sure I had nothing to do with this, but, naturally...I'll gladly take credit.Early Wednesday, after reading about some over zealous Washington Nationals fans spray painting their love for Bryce Harper on their apartment wall I wrote this:But, before you put paint to wall, isn't there a better way to profess your love for the DC wunderkind? The short answer...
Thoughts On The Nats' Lineup Construction
It has become like a song I can’t get out of my head, that annoyingly catchy tune with the repeating bridge and lyrics that make no sense. A few weeks ago I started to think about the Nats line-up and what a good future line-up would look like. Then slowly I came to a realization that the Nats had too many redundant bats and no prospects close to the majors that could fill the...

– The Toronto Blue Jays designated right handed pitcher Ryota Igarashi for assignment. The 33-year old Igarashi...

Two seasons ago, Joe Nathan went down in Spring Training and the Twins were forced to find a closer from within their organization. They chose Jon Rauch, and from opening day until July 30, Rauch was 21/25 on save attempts with a 3.05 ERA. Now, Rauch didn’t fit the closer mold, as he no longer [...]
