NYC Sports Nation:
Earlier in the day, Nick Swisher's agent informed of the Yankees of his client's decision to turn down the qualifying offer via email.
And as expected, Hiroki Kuroda and Rafael Soriano have declined the one-year $13.3 qualifying offer from the Yankees as well.
Kuroda and Soriano could both be back with the Yankees if years and money could be added to their respective contracts. However, it seems that Swisher will be gone -- especially with his inability to hit in the postseason.
Of the two pitchers, the Yankees want and need Kuroda to return.
As for Soriano, who is represented by super agent Scott Boris, he might be too expensive with the team targeting a $189 million payroll in 2014.
Cashman has a lot of work ahead of him.

I would much rather see them resign Kuroda and Soriano than to worry about Swisher. They can put Ichiro in right and Gardner back in left. Soriano will be the heir apparent to Rivera after he retires.

Yankees’ Cashman talking to Zack Greinke’s agent
After getting traded from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Los Angeles Angels last season, Zack Greinke posted a 6-2 record with a 3.53 era.
