Bush League Chronicle:
Wrigley Field is revered by most baseball enthusiasts as one of the best stadiums to visit to watch a game. The historic venue has been home to the Chicago Cubs for nearly a century now and Wrigley is about to receive a huge renovation to make it even better.Naturally, this has a lot of people around Chicago pretty excited. But don't count veteran Lance Berkman among those who is impressed with the friendly confines. In fact, Berkman pretty much went on record in saying that he strongly dislikes Wrigley Field."It's one of the worst places in baseball for, well, just about anything," Berkman told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Dallas Morning News. " I really don't like it. I read where they got approval for some more upgrades. Count me in the group of people extremely happy to see that. I guess I'm just spoiled. "There is a tremendous history associated with it and there is something special about playing on the same field that guys like Babe Ruth did. But really, what kind of history is there? It's not like there has been one championship after another. It's mainly been a place for people to go and drink beer." Via ESPN

Lance Berkman doesn't like to bite his tongue and many enjoy that aspect of the opinionated Texas Rangers designated hitter. However, many can easily become annoyed by Berkman's words.
After reading Berkman's comments from Monday, it's unlikely that he's going to win over any Chicago Cubs fans.

Rangers veteran Lance Berkman went on a bizarre rant against nearly every baseball purist’s version of baseball heaven–Wrigley Field.

Wrigley Field may be one of the most historic ballparks in North America, but Texas Rangers designated hitter Lance Berkman hardly cares for the nostalgia. The Rangers are beginning a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, and Berkman has made it clear that he is not looking forward to the visit.

Generally speaking, I'm of the notion that the loss of a starting pitcher for anything less than a couple months does not have that large an impact on a team. However, if that starting pitcher is the missing piece that can turn a rotation from being top-five in the league to number one overall, things change. Neftali Feliz has been on the disabled list since the start of...

Another day has come and gone and yet fans of both the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals are still talking about the possibility of trading Jurickson Profar for Oscar Taveras. This rumor first came to light via the internet a few days ago and has yet to be extinguished by either team. As Rangers fans collectively hold their breath, hoping that they do not decide to trade...

When the St. Louis Cardinals waged their annual war with injuries last season as Allen Craig and Lance Berkman went on the disabled list within weeks of each other in May, the Cardinals needed a replacement, and their first choice was minor leaguer Matt Adams.
Adams looked the part. He’s 6-foot-3-inches tall, weighs 260 pounds and hit 82 homeruns in his four years in the minor...

CHICAGO (AP) -- Derek Holland pitched seven shutout innings, Adrian Beltre hit a two-run home run, and Craig Gentry made a diving catch in the ninth to end the game and preserve the Texas Rangers' 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night at a cold Wrigley Field.
