Just a week ago, most expected 6′-9″ power forward/center Landen Lucas of Westview (OR) to end up playing in the Pac-12. With Washington, Stanford and California counted among his finalists, as well as Tennessee, there was a good chance that Lucas would end up playing in his home state several times a season, though for a Pac-12 foe. Late this week, news broke that Lucas was taking an official trip to Kansas, and at that point it seemed obvious the Jayhawks would be putting the full court press on Lucas’ recruitment. That effort obviously worked, as Lucas committed to Kansas on Sunday night, according to multiple reports. The big man is a solid addition to Kansas’ 2012 recruiting class, especially given the fact that the interior was an area of need, after Top 5 national prospect 7-footer Kaleb Tarczewski committed to Arizona over Kansas.
