On Monday, the Miami Marlins did not receive a good start which is something that has been rare this season. The Washington Nationals took the game 10-4 after scoring seven runs off of Miami starter, Wade LeBlanc. The loss moved the Marlins to 2-11 on the season and moved them further back in the National League East. It was the fourth time that the Nationals have beaten the fish in four tries.
LeBlanc gave up four runs in the first inning and the Nationals had the bases loaded with nobody out to begin the contest. After appearing to be settled in with a scoreless second, LeBlanc would go on to allow three more runs before being lifted in favor of John Maine. On the first pitch thrown by Maine, the Nationals added two more runs including one inherited from LeBlanc. Maine wound up giving the Marlins three and a third innings of relief to save some arms in the pen before Ryan Webb and Jon Rauch rounded out the pitching side for Miami.
Until the sixth, the Marlins were held...
