Cliff Lee was unstoppable on Wednesday on his way to a complete game shutout of the Miami Marlins.   Early on, Miami had the bases loaded with nobody out but failed to produce a run.   After that point, Lee kept the Marlins’ bats mostly quiet and scattered only three total hits in the game.   Kevin Slowey who started for Miami was pitching well before being lifted in the sixth inning due a strained left lat. Slowey struck out six, walked none and allowed only one run his five innings of work.    With a pitch count of only 69, it’s likely that Slowey could’ve went a couple of more innings at least.  Wade LeBlanc took over and allowed two runs in an inning and two thirds of relief.    Those extra runs put the game out of reach with the way Lee was pitching.    The loss however was charged to Slowey who fell to 1-5.    Chad Qualls and Steve Cishek also pitched and combined for two and a third scoreless innings. The hits for Miami were all singles and the team was 0-3 with runners in scoring position.   Derek Dietrich, Marcell Ozuna dn Miguel Olivo each had a hit while the team left four men on base in all. The Marlins are off on Thursday before starting a series against the Chicago White Sox on Friday.  Tom Koehler is scheduled to start the game on Friday.
