When I was a little kid, I used to look forward to the cheap gifts handed out at promotional days for Major League parks. I didn’t care if it said Hess or Oscar Meyer on the hat or T-shirt they gave us, I thought it was cool. Now, I don’t want it, and often times, they aren’t creative. That being said, it is good for business. Now, minor league baseball teams? They are the very best at this. Most often, these promotional nights actually encourage attendance, and bring a ton of publicity to local businesses. Kinda like the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, a Philadelphia Phillies Triple-A affiliate. They aren’t afraid to promote odd things: Let’s start by just saying thank you for making the finger foam. Hopefully, they also gave out a bottle of lube. If you’re attending the game, bring a cute girl with you, wink wink. Or a dude, if that’s your thing.
