April 19, 2012: Curtis Granderson homered in his first three at bats and finished the game going 5-for-5 with four RBI in the New York Yankees 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins. He’s the first person to homer three times in a game at the new Yankee Stadium. Line: 5 AB | 3 R | 5 H | 4 RBI; 3 HR My fantasy perspective: Many may have doubted whether Granderson’s 41 home runs in 2011 were for real or not, but with six home runs in 13 games, it’s time to start believing his power is the real deal. He’s 0-for-2 in stolen bases, so far this season, but fantasy owners should be salivating at the possibility of another 40 HR/20 SB season. Agree with my pick? Disagree? Curtis Granderson has hit three home runs in the first four innings for the New York Yankees against the Minnesota Twins. Granderson homered to right-center in the first inning Thursday night and hit a soaring, two-run shot into the second deck in right field in the second, both off starter Anthony Swarzak. In his third at-bat, Granderson hit a line drive to the short right-field...

Curtis Granderson hit three home runs in the first four innings and matched a career high with five hits, leading the New York Yankees to a 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night. 2012 Fantasy Baseball Daily Fix: Curtis Granderson's bucket list is complete

Curtis Granderson had a pretty good week in just one night. The Yankees' center fielder had the fantasy performance of the season, going 5-for-5 with three homers, three runs scored, and four RBIs. He began the day hitting .208 with three home runs and six RBIs before boosting his average by .075 and doubling his home-run total and nearly doubling his RBI total. If there was...

Tater Trot Tracker: Trot Times for April 19 by Larry Granillo

With only 17 home runs hit in 12 games Thursday, it feels a bit wrong to say that it was a big night for home runs. But... It was a big night for home runs. In Arizona, Freddie Freeman hit two home runs for the Braves. The real story of Thursday, however, was Curtis Granderson. Up early this morning is a quick look at Granderson's three tater trots. The rest of the day'...

Boxscore of the Week: 4/16 – 4/22

This week had many great performances, and I was going to choose New York Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson’s three home run game against the Minnesota Twins. Then, there was the Yankees nine-run comeback against the Red Sox on Saturday. However, Philip Humber gets the nod with his perfect game against the Seattle Mariners. 1

Bard to Get Start Against Yankees

This strikes me as a good call. @PeteAbeValentine just said that Bard will start on Sunday against the Yankees. #RedSoxThere had been talk of starting Lester, given the off day today, but Bard improved dramatically in his second start, whereas Lester had his first bad outing in his third start and could probably use a day off.The Yankees, by the way, are not exactly running away...

Not-So-Rapid Raction: Yankees 7, Twins 6

The Yankees had every excuse to mail in last night’s game. For starters, they have a 3:00 game in Boston today, and a nice, quick outing would have given them some measure of rest before this important series. Then Phil Hughes came out and got lit up in the first inning, and there had to be some temptation to pack it in and just hack away at every half-decent pitch. In fact,...
