St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Kyle Lohse took a flight back to St. Louis Thursday morning to meet with the Redbirds team doctor about a finger on his pitching hand.  Lohse has inflammation of the middle finger and Cardinals Manager Tony Larussa calls it “a finger issue.”  Larussa added, “He’s still scheduled to be our guy on Sunday…We’ll keep our fingers crossed.” Lohse has started 19 games this season and is 8-7 with a 3.45 ERA, but in July, Kyle is 0-3 with a 7.64 ERA. If this finger issue is bad and Lohse hits the DL – or worse, he has season ending surgery (which that is my guess) – what does this do for the Cardinals?  Does that make McLellan a lock to stay in the rotation?  Does this end any hopes of the Cardinals winning the NL Central?  Should they look to buy or sell?
