Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria dismissed a Twitter report that he was "disgruntled" with the team's financial situation.
He also denied that he "would welcome" a trade, the St. Petersburg Times reported on Friday.
"I don't have any idea where that rumor came from! It's completely false," Longoria told the newspaper in a text message.
"I've said from the start I love Tampa, I love the direction we are heading as a franchise and there is no better place for me to continue to grow as a player and person."
MLBInsideNews initially reported on Monday that Longoria wasn't happy with the team's situation.
The third overall pick of the 2006 draft, Longoria saw his average drop 50 points (to .244) last season, but still had 31 homers and 99 RBIs for the Rays.
