AP Photo/Chris Carlson The Los Angeles Angels started to show the character of a team many fans expected to see all season with their 3-1 series win over the Seattle Mariners this week. The victories were highlighted by a victory last night, in which the Angels rallied from a seven run deficit to stun the Mariners 10-9. Down seven runs  with Felix Hernandez on the mound, the Angels clawed, hit, and eventually walked home to victory. The comeback took in contributions from almost the entire roster, the second-largest comeback in their franchise history. Peter Bourjos and Mark Trumbo each homered for the Angels. Bourjos, who I talked about in my previous article as a critical piece for the Angels success, finished with an additional three hits, and also scored the game-tying run. Mike Trout finished with four hits for the team, and Albert Pujols had two hits and drove in the tying run in the 6th inning. The team even finished last night tying the franchise record for consecutive hits ...

Angels’ Josh Hamilton out until Tuesday with sore wrist

The Los Angeles Angels have elected to give outfielder Josh Hamilton the weekend off due to a sore wrist, according to Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com. Hamilton’s right wrist injury flared up during an intense pregame hitting drill roughly...

Josh Hamilton To Sit After Receiving Cortisone Shot For Wrist Injury

The terrible month of June for Hamilton just got a ‘shot’ of bittersweet news. Hamilton’s wrist became inflamed about 10 days after an ‘intense’ hitting drill, and on Friday he received a cortisone shot. It’s expected that the slumping former MVP will be out at least until Tuesday as he tries to recover from the injury. Could the days off getting better prove to be...

Jason Vargas Placed On Disabled List With Blood Clot In Left Armpit

The Los Angeles Angels have announced they have placed starting pitcher Jason Vargas on the 15-day disabled list because of a blood clot found in his left armpit. Vargas has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise sub-par year for the Angels. The lefty is 6-4 with a 3.65 ERA in his first season with Los Angeles after being traded from the Seattle Mariners last winter for...

Fantasy Trade Tips: You Want Mike Trout For What?

We’ll continue our look at the ten fantasy baseball trade hounds you may or may not want to find yourself in negotiations with this season. Every league has that dude that sends you a low-ball offer for Mike Trout, or maybe worse the guy who gives Mike Trout away for next to nothing because he just got back from his two year cruise in Aruba. We've all interacted with one at...

What should the St. Louis Cardinals do with Matt Adams?

In 2011 when the St. Louis Cardinals surprisingly declined to give Albert Pujols a long term contract, one of the main arguments circulating through Cardinal Nation advocating the decision was the presence of a big, young first baseman named Matt Adams who was raking in AA Springfield.  Now, in the second year of the Post-Albert Era, the Cardinals are thriving and Adams has very...

Extension Candidate: Jason Vargas

This off-season has proved how hit-or-miss the free agent and trade market can be from year to year. While some guys are still up in the air, like Pujols and Hamilton, some have already brought in more than enough return to justify their signing. One of those Dipoto moves that have proved to be immeasurably productive for the Angels is the Jason Vargas trade. Jerry Dipoto has...

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – Game 74

A split is good.  Offending the wife of a Reds pitcher is a close second. @CatLatos @shamtown is that douche for real? And his douche friend? Jesus. — Dallas Latos (@DallasLatos) June 21, 2013 She got one thing right though. I’m cool as a frozen cucumber. @shamtown @CatLatos you wouldn’t, rich. You’re so cool. —…

Lining up nicely

After beating Jered Weaver last night, the Pirates now face Jerome Williams and Joe Blanton. Yes, the Jerome Williams that you probably remember pitching for the Giants or Cubs in the middle of the last decade. Francisco Liriano goes tonight. It'd be nice to score him some runs. First pitch is at 10:05

Angels show no life; lose to Pirates 6-1

It's getting harder and harder to write something original about the Angels these days. It sure looks like the team is starting to realize this won't be there year. Tonight's game was a perfect showcase of a team that just doesn't seem to know what to do. They have struggled all season to get any sort of rhythm and rather than get angry the team seems to be going...
