Dan McDonnell and the Louisville baseball team has advanced to the Super Regional of the NCAA baseball championship after defeating Oklahoma State 12-3 on Sunday afternoon at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cards are now 49-12 on the year. This is the first time since 2009 the Louisville baseball program has advanced to the Super Regional. This was the first time in school history that the team has advanced without losing a game in the double elimination format. The Cards knocked off Bowling Green 8-3 on Friday and defeated Miami 6-4 on Saturday. Adam Engel, Nick Ratajczak and Ty Young each drove in two runs apiece for Louisville. Left fielder CoCo Johnson went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. Johnson was named MVP of the region. Louisville will face either Georgia Tech or Vanderbilt in the Super Region. LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma State advanced to the NCAA Louisville Regional final Sunday with a 7-1 win over Miami, but Louisville ended the Cowboys’ season by knocking them off by a 12-3 margin at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cowboys, who were the Louisville Regional’s third-seeded team, finished their first season under head coach Josh Holliday with a 41-19 mark.

Cards squeeze by the Hurricanes 6-4

The University of Louisville baseball team scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and then survived a late scare from Miami to beat the Hurricanes 6-4 in a winners’ bracket game of the NCAA Tournament regional at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cardinals are undefeated and will play the winner of the Miami-Oklahoma State game on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the regional final.

Nurdin, Cowboys Shut Down Bowling Green

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma State earned its first NCAA Tournament win in four years Saturday as the third-seeded Cowboys advanced in the NCAA Louisville Regional with a 7-3 win over fourth-seeded Bowling Green in an elimination game at Jim Patterson Stadium.
