Baltimore Orioles righthander Alfredo Simon's manslaughter hearing in the Dominican Republic was postponed Wednesday after two witnesses failed to appear.
A witness also failed to show during a previous hearing in connection with a New Year's Eve shooting death of Simon's cousin.
Simon is the main suspect in the shooting, although he has denied the allegations. Another hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 8.
The 30-year-old Simon made 23 appearances (16 starts) for the Orioles this past season, posting a 4-9 record and 4.90 ERA.
