Mariano Rivera has retuned to the mound to market a special edition of the New York Yankees Fragrance. The Bronx Bombers released official fragrances back in February, a first for a professional sports team. Rivera serves as a brand ambassador for the team scent, together with center fielder, Curtis Granderson. As part of their pitchman duties, the teammates visited Macy’s Herald Square earlier this year to promote the new fragrance to fans. When asked about the cologne, Rivera had told the New York Times, it was “fresh and clean” and “breezy, masculine, very classic.” The Yankees closer now has his own line within the brand. To commemorate one of the greatest Yankees of all-time, a Mariano Rivera Signature Edition/New York Yankees fragrance has been unveiled for the holidays. It’s a 200mL version of the original, high quality, Yankee-blue glass bottle, with an official screening of Rivera’s Hall of Fame signature. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the Mariano Rivera Signature Limited Edition will go to The Mariano Rivera Foundation. Fans can pick up a bottle here. Rivera had not thrown a pitch in public since his season-ending injury in May but in his new commercial for the Yankees scent, fans were privy to his “First Pitch.” Check out the spot below and for more behind-the-scenes footage, visit here.
