The Seattle Mariners are set to call up infield prospect Nick Franklin. Franklin, 22, has been playing well for the Mariners Triple-A team in Tacoma. While with Tacoma, Franklin has a .324/.440/.472  line with four home runs and seven stolen bases in 39 games. Seattle would not promote a player of Franklin’s talent to simply sit on the bench which means that either Brendan Ryan or Dustin Ackley will be taken out of their starting role with the team. Ackley is hitting .205 this year while Ryan is slightly better with a .211 average.
  • In favor of that. Send Ackley down. Still wondering how Howard Lincoln and Chuck Armstrong still have a job. The past decade has been a disaster and those two have been at the helm. Time to go.
  • Wish granted. Ackey sent to Triple-A.
