The Seattle Mariners have signed pitcher Jeremy Bonderman to a minor league contract, hoping the right-hander can make a comeback from Tommy John surgery. The Mariners announced the deal Friday. They also invited the 30-year-old who was raised in the state of Washington to spring training. Bonderman has not pitched in the majors since 2010, when he went 8-10 with a 5.53 ERA for Detroit. He pitched eight seasons for the Tigers and helped them reach the World Series in 2006, when he was 14-8 and led the AL with 34 starts. Bonderman had surgery on his right elbow last April. A blood clot in his right shoulder slowed his career in 2008 after he had a winning record in three straight years.

Why we root for guys like Jeremy Bonderman

The Seattle Mariners took a flier yesterday and signed Jeremy Bonderman to a minor league contract. While of itself, this is nothing to get too worked up about. Broken down pitchers are signed to such deals every year. Sometimes, like in 2011 with Garcia and Colon for the Yankees, it works out. Most of the time it does not. And to be sure, Tigers fans will probably not root overly...

Morales for Vargas: Reviewing Seattle Mariners trade

M’s find another bat for 2013 With the trade of Jason Vargas to the Los Angeles Angels for Kendrys Morales, the Mariners have made their biggest splash of the offseason. Both players are 29 years old and set to be free agents in 2014. But they also fill big needs for their news teams. This is a win-win for everyone. And it was certainly the right move for Seattle. Gaining Kendrys...

Question marks regarding the Mariners Kendrys Morales trade

Hello Kendrys G’Bye Jason For someone that likes to think they have a pulse on the Seattle Mariners, the inter-divisional trade that happened with the Angels took me by complete surprise.  The first shock was to think of the fact that the Mariners were able to get a well known and proven bat without giving up their most valuable prospects. The second surprise was that the Mariners...
