The Mariners Rule Five Draft Pick: Lucas Luetge

Seattle Mariners blogger Danny Ferguson tells us it is possible to strike gold as is the case with Josh Hamilton – a rule five pick who became the 2010 American League MVP. This year the rule five draft was again utilized by the Mariners in the selection of a left handed relief pitcher from the Brewers organization, Lucas Luetge.

Why Being A Mariners Fan Sucks

First off, don't let the title fool you. I am a huge Mariners fan. I can't even count the number of 2-1 losses I've suffered through over the past two seasons. More than most, I bet. I am also a realist.  I have come to terms with the fact that the Mariners are a low-level organization. Cellar-dwellers. Under-achievers. Belly-scratchers. Etc. In the greatest sports...

But all that speculation may be “extremely overblown.” At least, so says ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick on Twitter. That’s what an agent apparently told him. On 710 AM ESPN Seattle radio Tuesday afternoon, Crasnick said Fielder probably won’t be calling Safeco [...]

The Mariners announced the contract on Tuesday. Edgar Martinez's quest for possible Hall of Fame election will require patience

Former Mariners star Edgar Martinez received 36.5 percent of the votes cast for the Hall of Fame, well short of the 75 percent needed. He realizes it will be a long, slow, climb if he makes it to the hall.
