The Florida Marlins and second baseman Omar Infante have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension, the team's website reported Monday night.
The report did not offer financial terms but said an official announcement would come Tuesday after Infante undergoes a physical. He made $2.5 million this season.
Infante is hitting .279 with seven homers and 49 RBI this season, his first with the Marlins. He was acquired from Atlanta in the Dan Uggla deal.
