The Marlins made a pair of roster moves Thursday. Miami exercised the 2014 club option on right-hander Jacob Turner. The 22-year-old, who began the year in Triple-A New Orleans after a rough spring, went 3-8 with a 3.74 ERA in 20 starts. Turner finished the season losing his final seven decisions, last winning on July 10 against the Braves. In 118 innings he struck out 77 batters and walked 54. His best outing came on June 29 in a 7-1 victory over the Padres when he pitched a complete game. Acquired in the Anibal Sanchez trade in 2012 from the Tigers, Turner figures to be a member of the starting rotation next season. Meanwhile, outfielder Marcell Ozuna was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list. The 22-year-old had surgery in late July to repair a ligament tear and avulsion fracture in his left thumb, which he sustained while making a diving catch at Coors Field. Before the injury was known, Ozuna was optioned back to Double-A Jacksonville. Ozuna earned his big-league call-up on April 30 when Giancarlo Stanton went on the disabled list. In the outfield, he ranked near the top of the National League with eight assists. Ozuna hit .330 over his first 29 games, before tailing off over the next two months for a .265 average with three home runs and 32 RBI in 70 games. He and Jake Marisnick will compete for the starting centerfield job. The 40-man roster is now at 32 as the Hot Stove season begins.
