Florida Marlins second baseman Omar Infante was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, one day after he broke his right middle finger diving for a ground ball. Joe Thurston was called up from Triple-A New Orleans to take Infante's spot. He last appeared in the majors with St. Louis in 2009. Thurston was in the Marlins' lineup against the Cardinals Friday night, batting seventh. Florida also transferred Scott Cousins to the 60-day DL. He has been out since June. The Marlins remain without shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who sprained his left shoulder this week.
