CLEVELAND (AP) -- Miami first baseman Gaby Sanchez has been sent to the minors, a year after he was on the NL All-Star team. The Marlins announced Sanchez had been optioned to Triple-A New Orleans after their 2-0 loss to the Cleveland Indians. Sanchez went 0 for 3, dropping his average to .197. He has one homer and 11 RBIs. The Marlins were counting on Sanchez, who hit .266 with 19 homers and 78 RBIs last season, to be a force in the middle of their lineup. The 28-year-old Sanchez batted .273 with 19 homers and 85 RBIs in 2010, his first full season in the majors. Miami will make a move to fill Sanchez's roster spot before Sunday's game at Cleveland.
