Found November 17, 2012 on PRO Rumors:
The Florida Marlins have signed Juan Pierre, Craig Mish of Sirius 210 XM reports (and later confirmed by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports). The terms of the deal are not yet known. This is probably not the signing Marlins' fans were looking for after the team traded just about every decent player on the roster, but Pierre will definitely will the team. Pierre signed a minor league deal with the Phillies last offseason and made the team out of Spring Training as the teams fourth outfielder. Pierre was thrusted into a starting role thanks to injuries and trades. Pierre appeared in 130 games and posted a .307/.351/.371 line with 37 stolen bases in 439 plate appearances. Why I Love the Phillies – Vanessa

I love the Phillies because they are so down to earth and just very warm-hearted guys and I think Charlie Manuel is a great coach. I dont really hear anything negative about the players and when I went to the Ryan Howard Celebrities Servers event, all the players that were there treated me and my family so nice. Ryan Howard even let my son say a few words at his event, which I thought...

The Philadelphia Phillies' double-A affiliate is tweaking its name and adding an...ostrich? The Reading Phillies changed their name Saturday to the Fightin Phils, a nod to the big club's longtime nickname. And the farm team also says a pugnacious ostrich, complete with balled fists, is its new mascot. The club says the name change - in the city affectionately known as Baseballtown...

Introducing the Reading Fightin' Phils

Thanks to La Salle University's David Grzybowski for providing video of the Philadelphia Phillies Double-A team's rebranding into the Reading Fightin' Phils. The uniforms are pretty sweet and I love the ostrich as the mascot, very minor league-esque. Phillies organizational good soldier Mike Spidale was the model, he of 1407 minor league hits over 13 seasons.
