With the team sputtering down the home stretch, Phillies fans are looking for any sign of hope heading into October. Paul Bako has hit well in the last week or so but he isn't the backstop that helped this team win a World Series in 2008.
Carlos Ruiz is working back from that pesky wrist injury and could be on the field tonight. Chooch's bat isn't likely to set the world on fire but perhaps his calming demeanor could add something that this team has been missing?
No? A total stretch, you say? Well then I don't know what to write about these guys. They better get their act together right quick.
