Big day (if Cutch is OK)

Other than a briefly-terrifying  (but apparently not serious) injury to Andrew McCutchen, today’s game was pretty darn awesome. The Bucs got a big blast early on, a solid pitching effort, and a series win in St. Louis…with a chance to sweep tomorrow afternoon. The game started out with two quick outs, but  McCutchen and Garrett Jones singled to keep the inning alive. Neil Walker...

McCutchen and Hanrahan make All-Star team; McDonald, Grilli, and Burnett snubbed

The rosters for next week’s All-Star game have been released, and two Pirates are on the list. That’s one more than we usually see before any replacements start coming in — but not not quite as many as we were hoping for this season. Andrew McCutchen was a lock to make it. Believe.

What a fun game to watch.  In honor of John Wehner’s birthday, the Pirates pounded out nineteen hits and scored 14 runs.  Kevin Correia’s start wasn’t great, but it was all the Buccos needed. The scoring started early with a 1st inning 2-run single from Neil Walker.  Andrew McCutchen was just a triple short of [...]
