Jonny Venters
Position: P
Height: 6-3; Weight: 195
BatThrow: LL
Hometown: Berkeley Lake, Ga.
Experience: Third season
2011 in review: Venters formed part of the formidable OVentbrel bullpen trio. He went 6-2 with a 1.84 ERA and led the NL by appearing in 85 games. The workload appeared to catch up with him as he went 0-1 with a 5.11 ERA in September.
Career highlight: Earned his first career save by throwing only one pitch against to preserve a 4-3 victory over the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on June 3, 2010. Venters struck out one of the two batters he faced in the 2011 All-Star game.
Outlook: It should be more of the same from Venters, who become one of the most reliable relievers in his first two seasons. Thanks to an excellent sinker, Venters is 10-6 with a 1.89 ERA and six saves in his two seasons with the Braves.
You should know: Venters was a starter in the minor leagues, making 29 starts for Mississippi and Gwinnett in 2009, before being moved to the bullpen when he joined the Braves on April 17, 2010.

MLB News: Indians acquire Jairo Asencio from Braves for cash
The Cleveland Indians have acquired a reliever from the Atlanta Braves organization for cash. According to Lindsey Foltin from 92.3 the Fan, Asencio led the International League in saves for Gwinnett in 2009 and 2011.

Atlanta Braves Season Preview
The Atlanta Braves had a collapse for the ages in September of 2011, but it was overshadowed by the Boston Red Sox and their slightly larger collapse followed by a complete sell-out of their manager and some of the elder pitchers on the team. However, the Atlanta Braves stood tight, made very few moves, and are ready to go again in 2012. The question is: does another year older...
