Is this the return of those seemingly miracle Mets we saw in the first three months of 2012? Now posting W’s in six of their last seven contests, the Amazins’ sit just half a dozen games under the .500 mark. Before Chris Young even entered today’s ballgame, he was handed a five run lead thanks to an offense outburst headed by Jason Bay… yes, Jason Bay. It started off with back to back doubles by Ronny Cedeno and Justin Turner, followed by a David Wright RBI groundout to draw blood first. Kelly Shoppach and Ike Davis would reach base to load the bases with two out for Jason Bay. Prior to today’s game, Bay was batting an anemic .095 with runners in scoring position in 2012, well below the Mendoza line. However, this time around, the Mets slumped left fielder drove the ball over the 392 in left center for a grand slam, the fifth of his career, providing quite a sight for sore eyes, including his own.
