Adam Rubin of ESPN reports that the Mets have fired scouts Ben Johnson, Russ Boveand Duane Larson. In addition, Sandy Johnson, a special assistant, will not be retained. Razor Shines was also informed "weeks ago" that he was not retained.
Some good news: Sandy Alderson has hired J.P. Ricciardi. Ricciardi worked under Alderson in Oakland, and was the Blue Jays GM from 2001 to 2009. He will serve as a special assistant to Alderson.
