NEW YORK METS- One game away from the World Series last season, the Mets came into the year as one of the favorites to represent the NL in this year's World Series. The Mets haven't exactly lived up to those expectations, but they are still playing well, 56-43, in first place.
Outlook- August is going to be a telling month for the Mets, when twenty of their twenty-nine games are against teams with a record over .500, including four with Philadelphia and four with Atlanta. The Mets have the best team in the division on paper and are still the favorite to win the division. They will need to have Carlos Delgado find his bat and another pitcher to step up and help John Maine and Oliver Perez in the rotation to ensure success...
