Mets Notes: Wagner, Niese, Injury Updates, Call ups

Billy Wagner is expected to throw off a mound Monday in New York. He could pitch in games in Brooklyn later in the week.

Jerry Manuel confirmed Jon Niese as Tuesday's starter in Milwaukee. The Mets also confirmed Bobby Parnell as a call-up.

Scott Schoeneweis (back) and Luis Ayala (groin) are unavailable. Brian Stokes may be the closer today, though he's worked four of five days.

Marlon Anderson has rejoined the Mets and will be active Monday in Milwaukee.

Manuel said his planned lineup shakeup Monday in Milwaukee should include more playing time for Damion Easley and/or Fernando Tatis as well as a lefty hitter in the No. 2 slot to break up the string of lefty hitters lower in the order.

The Mets announced eight additions when rosters expand plus Anderson off the DL. There may be one or two more because of the banged-up relief corps added to this list: Jon Niese, Robert Parnell, Ricardo Rincon, Al Reyes, Argenis Reyes, catcher Gustavo Molina, infielder Ramon Martinez, and .
