Jon Morosi of FOX Sports says the Mets are interested in re-signing Miguel Batista. Batista was released by the Cardinals in June, as he went 3-2 with a 4.60 ERA in 26 appearances and one start, walking 19 batters and allowing 27 hits in 29 1/3 innings this season. The Mets signed him to a minor league contract on July 5 and went 2-0 with a 2.64 ERA in nine games and four starts for the Mets. The 40-year-old Batista has played for the Diamondbacks, Nationals, Mariners, Blue Jays, Royals, Pirates, Cardinals, Cubs, Marlins, and Mets over his 17 year career, and he’s gone 101-112 with a 4.48 ERA, serving as both a starter and a reliever in his career.
