Recap: The ink on his contract has dried, his Rangers jersey is packed away, but Jon Niese was not smiling tonight. He had a few good pitches, but the Blue Jays were just absolutely dominant tonight. Niese’s Achilles heel has always been the long ball, and the Jays had that going for them. Niese allowed a career high four homeruns in the first three innings and two came from the same guy. Three innings, eight runs on eight hits, two walks and striking out six. The strikeouts are nice at least. Shake it off Jonny. He’s now 2-2 on the season. It didn’t matter who the Mets threw out there against the Jays, they were just tee-ing off everyone. Acosta and Ramirez combine for three innings, four hits and six runs.
