Citi Field Nine:
I’m not gonna lie and say I saw the game, cause I didn’t. I knew they were up 1-0 before I went to work, then found out they lost 6-5. But that’s it, that they lost, but not how they had lost.
That I found out an hour later and it pissed me off. Then it made me wonder.
‘Was this the game that defines the season?’
Is this the loss that proves to Mets fans that this team won’t get it done?
That the 2010 Mets just don’t have enough to even get into the playoffs, that they will disappoint us yet again. And that it will rate an 8 on the Disappointment Meter. Yes, an 8.
Another team like the 1998 Mets, a team that didn’t make playoffs. Another 8 on the Disappointment Meter.
A team that lost their last five games to miss the Wild Card by a game. What would have been a 3-way wild card involving the Cubs & Giants. Instead was won by the Cubs, led by future Met Steve Trachsel, who threw 6.1 of 1-hit ball.
