Texas Rangers third baseman Michael Young notched 2,000 career hits Sunday night in a win over the Cleveland Indians, recording hits 1,999 and 2,000 on separate infield hits. Young becomes one of 22 active MLB'ers to record the feat and only one of 260 players in MLB history to reach the milestone as well. His manager Ron Washington said this after the game: "He's been consistent and he's showed up every day and played. It just shows that he's a grinder. Health has a lot to do with it. He stayed healthy. Undoubtedly he had to learn how to play through some mishaps to get to this point. ... The good ones do. They always do, and he's a real good one." Is it too early to talk about Michael Young for the Hall of Fame? Source: ESPN
