Seattle Times:
None other than Mike Carp just emerged onto the field for early batting practice, shook some hands, and is getting ready to step into the cage.
Not sure yet whose spot he's taking, but thought you'd like to know.
The left-handed-hitting Carp is hitting .299 with 10 homers and 32 RBI for Tacoma with a .412 on-base percentage and .517 slugging percentage. He also has 16 doubles. He's the sixth player from the J.J. Putz trade, either directly or indirectly, on the roster, along with Franklin Gutierrez, Endy Chavez, Ronny Cedeno , Jason Vargas, and Garrett Olson
