MILWAUKEE The Milwaukee Brewers reached agreement on a one-year contract with Shaun Marcum, avoiding an arbitration hearing with the right-handed pitcher.Marcum, 30, went 13-7 last season making a career-high 33 starts and pitching a career high 200.2 innings. His production fell off in the playoffs as he went 0-3 with a 14.90 ERA, allowing 16 runs in 9.2 innings of work.The Brewers acquired Marcum in December 2010, in a trade that sent infield prospect Brett Lawrie to Toronto.Marcum's deal leaves the Brewers with just one arbitration-eligible player, right-handed reliever Jose Veras.
