In this case, Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura steals second and after Ryan Braun walks the two try a double steal. The Cubs play it perfectly though with a solid throw by Shawn Camp to pick off Segura, but he retreats back to second without getting tagged.
That's where it gets funky.
Braun had already made it there. Now in a case like this you would expect Braun to either retreat or both of them to just stand there while one gets tagged out. Since Segura was the lead runner when he touched the bag again Braun became out.
So the play is over, right? Nope!
Segura appears to be running to the dugout which does put him back into play. Whether he realized his goof and knew he had a way out is not known, but he does scamper to the bag towards the end. The Cubs were not looking to make a play on him so no o...
