This week's featured Major League Baseball game pits the Boston Red Sox at the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies have been a dominant team for years, due in most part to one of the most balanced squads in the majors. With outstanding pitching and enough run support, the Phillies have been one of the top teams in the game. But this year's Philadelphia squad may have some issues. Pitching should still be a major strength and there isn't a team in the majors that wouldn't like to have the Phillies 1-2 punch of Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee. Where Philadelphia is suspect is in run production, a source of some problems in 2011. Ryan Howard's delayed return from last year's injury to his Achilles and Chase Utley's nagging injuries could put a crimp in an offense that will have to hope the rest of its starters stay healthy. As for the Red Sox, the thing that needs the most healing may be between the ears. After their monumental collapse in 2011, the Red Sox opened the season against the Detroit Tigers and found new and interesting ways to notch an 0-3 start. Not exactly the confidence boost this team was looking for. But these are still two of the most talented teams in the majors and both are capable of getting on a roll.
