The Indians lost OF Ezequiel Carrera to the Philadelphia Phillies when he was claimed off the waiver wire- OF Ezequiel Carrera claimed on outright waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies . LHP David Huff cleared waivers & was outrighted to Columbus — Cleveland Indians(@tribeinsider) April 2, 2013 “The Indians knew they were taking a risk when they exposed fleet-footed outfielder Ezequiel Carrera to waivers. The only question seemed to be which club would pluck the outfielder off the wire. On Tuesday, the Phillies claimed Carrera off outright waivers, adding him to their 40-man roster. Indians left-hander David Huff, who was designated for assignment on Sunday, cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Columbus.” [Bastian/Indians.com] The writing was very much on the wall for Carrera when the Indians picked up Bourn, Swisher and Stubbs in the off-season. For his career David Huff is 18-26 with a 5.30 ERA in 55 games.

Just like last year, I will do this five times throughout the season, revisiting the rankings to see who has risen, who has fallen, and what new players are crashing the party. This year's roster is particularly interesting after an offseason...

Have No Fear, Ezequiel Carrera Is Here

The Phillies announced, this evening, that they’ve claimed Ezequiel Carrera off waivers from the Cleveland Indians.  In the always dismissive, overly elusive world of the Phillies brass, this early season pick up can be interpreted as an admission that there  just might be some issues in the outfield. But, lets not get overly hopeful about the acquisition, it’s not as if they...

Second Thoughts: Game #1 Indians 4, Blue Jays 1

It’s a Start Big right-hander Justin Masterson made his second consecutive opening day start for the Indians on Tuesday against the Blue Jays and overall was effective in six innings of work.
