2011 Review: 2011 was a strange year for the Cardinals. They went from out of the playoffs in August to winning the wild card on the last day of the season. They capped that by winning the World Series. The team definitely had problems. They lost ace Adam Wainwright to Tommy John Surgery during Spring Training. They had issues between Colby Rasmus and Tony LaRussa (again); this resulted in trading the outfielder, along with relievers Trever Miller, Brian Tallet, and P.J. Walters to the Blue Jays for Edwin Jackson, Marc Rzepczynski, Octavio Dotel, and Corey Patterson. It wasn’t an earth shattering trade at the time (I was against it), but it apparently worked. As the season ended and the post-season began, the team got hot and played in one of the most memorable World Series in memory. Manager: Mike Matheny GM: John Mozeliak Notable MLB Additions: Carlos Beltran (OF, Giants), Lance Berkman+ (1B), Rafael Furcal+ (SS), J.C. Romero (RP, Rockies) + denotes re-signed * denotes trade/waiv...
