Did not think this dude would be sitting on all my rostersPhoto Credit: Ozmafan
You’ve pored over my “Tiers, Not Fears” series, fawned over my cheat sheet, and masturbated to episodes of Starbonell Station. At some point, you may have wondered, “does this handsome hooligan actually follow his own advice on draft/auction day?” It’s a fair question. To help answer it, I’ve gone over my rosters from the three mixed leagues I did this year. The three leagues are as follows:Blog Wars: A 14-team auction league of writers that includes the likes of Scott Pianowski (Yahoo!), Grey Albright (Razzball), Rob Steingall (Minor Developments), Eno Sarris (Fangraphs), and Scott Swanay (Fantasy Sherpa). This league uses two catchers, five OFs, a CI, and an MI. It uses the classic 5x5 scoring format for roto. Oh, and it’s run by Sons of Roto. That’s right, we’ve got friends in high places.Sons of Roto Reader League: A 16-team auction league that actually features a mix of dudes I’ve been drafting wit...

Version 2.0: Seattle Mariners Spring Training Update
Spring training comes to a close for the Seattle Mariners on April 4. In the two months since the players reported to the valley of the sun, there have been some gasps of excitement and some groans of despair.
Things that made us gasp:

Shawn Kelley sent to Tacoma AAA
A short while ago via the Seattle Mariners twitter feed we learned that the team has announced RHP Shawn Kelley has been optioned to AAA Tacoma.
This officially puts the M's roster at 27 players; we all know to well of course that they need to be at 25 by 2 pm Wed.

Mariners oppose basketball arena
Seattle is dying to have an NBA team back, but the Mariners are not too thrilled about an arena being built in the same area.
Maloofs and Mariners playing hardball with new stadiums in Sacramento, Seattle
It’s unknown at this point in the game how many more at bats Seattle will get trying to bring an NBA franchise back to town, but right now the Seattle Mariners are working on a shutout against such aspirations.
The same can be said about the Maloofs and the Sacremento Kings.
On Tuesday, the Mariners sent a formal letter -- signed by team chairman, Howard Lincoln -- to the...
Seattle options Furbush, Peguero to reach 25 limit
The Seattle Mariners have optioned left-handed pitcher Charlie Furbush and outfielder Carlos Peguero to Triple-A Tacoma to reach the major league-mandated 25-man roster limit.
Seattle made the roster moves Wednesday ahead of its final exhibition game against Colorado. The Mariners will go through a second opening day on Friday when they play at Oakland. The Mariners and A's...
Jesus took one to the head! Animated gif of Jesus Montero getting beaned
Here's a scary animated gif from the Seattle Mariners spring training game yesterday in Peoria Arizona.
He was held back from charging the mound by Eric Wedge and others. Wasn't too happy. But no way was he targeted, the bases were loaded. The pitch got away.
Thanks to Bleacher Report for this one.
Mariners oppose new arena
The Seattle Mariners have sent a letter to the city of Seattle and King County officials saying as of now they do not support the idea of a new NBA/NHL arena in the same neighborhood as the Mariners home of Safeco Field.
The letter was sent from the team on Tuesday and signed by Mariners chairman Howard Lincoln. In the letter, Lincoln says the franchise supports the idea of the...
My oh my! Top play of the week for the Seattle Mariners: (Video)
First hit of the season for Ichiro
With the short week last week, I didn’t have too many choices for top plays of the week, but I think the video I selected is a special one.
Ichiro Suzuki, Japan’s native son, singles for his first hit of the season, and first of four on the day against the Oakland A’s at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
The crowd goes wild for Ichiro
With his first...

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners & Tacoma Rainiers blogger Danny Ferguson tells us what to expect from the AAA farm team of the M's in 2012. Fans should see Adam Moore, Franklin Gutierrez and Mike Carp in Tacoma on training assignments before being activated off the disabled list. Does Tacoma have the same potential this season as well? It is hard to know exactly what to...
A's gear up to face Felix Hernandez yet again
By the time Oakland gets through its first eight games, the Athletics will already have faced Mariners ace Felix Hernandez three times.
It's a crazy schedule that began with these two clubs facing off in their first two games last week in Japan, with each winning once - including ''King Felix's'' Game 1 victory at the Tokyo Dome.
Now, the AL West rivals...

What A Cluster****
Here’s what we know. The project proposed to the city by Chris Hansen is a good one.
The project does NOT rely on NEW taxes, it would be self-funding, IN any given year shortfalls would be covered by the teams. NO Public subsidies. This will avoid the roadblock many Seattle ventures have faced.
Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech Hit the brakes. A road block? Yes we have...
