Former MLB star Andruw Jones was arrested Christmas morning and charged with battery, according to multiple sources. The location of the arrest was reportedly just outside of Atlanta, and is allegedly a domestic dispute charge.
The Gwinnett County Sheriffâs Office in Georgia arrested Jones on Christmas morning after responding to a phone call involving Jones and his wife at their home in Duluth. According to numerous reports citing the Gwinnett County Detention Center records, Jones was released on $2,400 bond Christmas morning after spending seven hours in jail.
The five time All-Star has played for the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees. After spending 17 years playing MLB, Jones recently signed a one year deal in the Japanese Pacific Baseball League with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.
As of now, there is no word as to whether or not Jonesâs arrest will jeopardize his deal in Japan, as they take off the field incidents very seriously, as sports figures are viewed in a much higher regard in terms of what they stand for both on and off the field.
After hitting 434 home runs over his MLB career, it is unknown if Jones will get the opportunity to hit one in Japan.
