Rick Porcello was good enough to earn at least a no decision Saturday night, unfortunately though his offense didn’t take advantage of the opportunities presented to them. The Tigers left a total of six runners on base and hit into three double-plays as they fell to the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 from Comerica Park. Porcello, who’s been largely inconsistent this season went six strong innings striking out six and walking only one while taking his 8th loss on the year. His only blemish came in the 7th inning when Chris Davis hit a three run shot to put the O’s ahead for good. Meanwhile Baltimore starter Zach Britton kept the Tigers hitters looking silly all night. Britton who carried a 1-1 record with a 8.10 ERA into the game struck out five and allowed no runs in seven innings of work. He also got Peralta, Avila and Delmon Young to all ground into double plays effectively ending any threat the Tigers were able to muster.
