When the San Diego Padres left Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon they better have hoped they packed the ” Hot Bats” with them. On Wednesday afternoon the Padres exploded with 23 hits and 13 runs in the Brew city, salvaging the last game of the series against the Brewers. The Padres were one hit away from tying the club record of 24 hits. The Padres look to continue this hitting frenzy right into Coors Field. They will face Jorge De La Rosa and the Rockies who started the season hot as ever but with injuries and there ace Ubaldo Jimenez not pitching with the velocity he had last year the Rockies have lost 8 of there last 10 and have lost first place to the defending World Series Champs. Brad Hawpe looks for his return back to Coors Field and looks to continue his turnaround, as he his now hitting an average of .214. The Padres will look to Dustin Moseley on Friday night as Moseley has shown he can pitch as a starter but needs the offense to help him out when he is out on the mound. Moseley may even be singing the great words of The Beatles, ” Oh I get by with a little help from my friends”, if Ryan Ludwick, Cameron Maybin, and Chase Headley can put on a show in the Mile High City. On Saturday the Padres will send Aaron Harang to the mound, and on Sunday Mat Latos will look to get his first win of the season.
