Who are these guys running around in NY Mets uniforms these days beating everyone in sight??? The Mets; first place Mets, reeled off their seventh straight victory today at Citi Field in beating the Pittsburg Pirates 8-4!
The Mets have now swept their last three series (albeit two- game versions against the Braves and Phillies).....but a sweep is a sweep! Not only that but seven straight wins in the big leagues is nothing to sneeze at.
The Mets got six, somewhat decent ( by todays standards)innings out of Livan Hernandez then smiled as Pedro Feliciano, J. J. Putz and Sean Green closed the deal without letting up any more runs.
The May version of the Mets (8-1) find ways to get the deal done as opposed to the April (and last two season's September versions....) who seemed to find ways to send Mets fans home looking for the bottle of Prosac (not sure if I spelled it right, but I haven't ever needed it----so far).
Next up; the Atlanta Braves! Johan Santana vs Derrick Lowe should be fun to watch tomorrow!
