Alex Rodriguez is having trouble understanding the recent report linking him to PED usage, and he thinks the New York Yankees or Major League Baseball are out to get him, the New York Daily News reports.

According to The News, Rodriguez is denying ties to Anthony Bosch and telling friends that the documents listed by the Miami New Times are forged. He also supposedly believes people are out to get him.

Here’s what the newspaper’s article states:

Sources say the embattled Yankee star is “scared” that bigger forces are at work to try to discredit him and sink his career. Holed up in Miami, Rodriguez has been huddling with an army of lawyers and PR people as the performance-enhancing drug scandal enveloping him intensifies.

“He’s scared, because he thinks this is so unbelievably false, and he’s wondering who could be behind this,” said a source, referring to last week’s Miami New Times report linking A-Rod to an alleged Miami-area performance-enhancing drug scandal. “He thinks something could be going on larger than anyone might think.”

The source added that Rodriguez is wondering if the Yankees or even Major League Baseball are behind the latest controversy.

It’s important to keep in mind that this is a report from The News based on a source whose credibility is unverifiable. Still, beyond denying the report in a statement issued through his people, Rodriguez has not given an interview or spoken to the media about the latest allegations he is facing. The best way for him to end the speculation is to talk. Unfortunately, given his history of using steroids — and lying about it — he has given the public very few reasons to believe him.

The New Times’ report was based on interviews with customers and former employees of Biogenics — Anthony Bosch’s former company. Not only do they have the words of several people supporting them, but they also have documents backing it up. That seems to be a lot of evidence, and the fact that three of Bosch’s alleged clients tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone last season makes their report look more accurate.

MLB investigators reportedly have met with the New Times’ reporters.

The News also reports that the Yankees could attempt to force Rodriguez to retire or reach an injury settlement with him. A-Rod is owed $114 million over the next five seasons and reportedly has no plans to retire.

  • He is such a narcissistic douche, get over yourself cheater.
  • Isn't paranoia related to steroid use?
  • Its cover ARod.
  • Why is Alex Rodriguez called A-Rod and Jennifer Lopez J-Lo; I think they were already famous before the nickname. Is it too hard to say their names?
  • Nobody is out to get you, Rodriquez. But keep an eye out for Madonna. She is vindictive as all get out.
  • Please do us all a favor and just GO AWAY. Can't you tell when you're not wanted?
  • ARod = Barry Soetoro not really producing and way overrated
  • A rod is a dork and will always be a dork, a very rich dork..One of the most hated in the majors.. A rod, go away.. You suck
  • just call him p-rod as in paranoid rodriguez
i also think neu-rod applies (neurotic rodriguez)
  • A deal is a deal. The last thing I want is to see big corporations cheating the little guy out of what they promised. That aside. If I was A-Rod I'd retire. His retirement check must be a huge amount. I said last year that it would be his last, I expect that they will buy him out for about 1/2 of his remainder. They will probably throw in some tax bennies etc.
  • it's ANOTHER a-bomb for a-rod!
  • Oh how I wish this overpaid cheat and looser would just go away. He can't play anymore and is a disgrace to the pinstripes. His hip is shot from injecting all those PED's and everyone knows it.
  • As a Red Sox fan, I'm loving any controversy involving the Yankees; the darker the conspiracy, the better!
  • just go away a-roid.....go away!
  • certainly sounds like the A-Rod is suffering from the side effects of using steroids-PARANOIA.get over yourself-how stupid were the Yankees to give that kind of deal anyway?!?!he's a cheater and he needs to be OUTTA THERE!!,for good
  • is it just me or does anybody else think its the biggest waste of our tax dollars there is to spend millions investigating all these athletes for steroids and jock strap abuse! seriously dont we have other way more important things for our govt people, money, and court system to be worried about than some athlete who is supposed to be monitored by thier respective legues.i think govt is fu#$^dup enough and maybe the need to be investigated for having there priorities way out of wak.
  • you pompus ass. your a cheat. The only conspiracy going on is in your head. you conceded asshole. go away before mlb throws you out. they should call you p a rod. pompus ass rod. Is it me or are there a lot of Yankees past and present on roids. About time the Yanks are knocked down a peg.
  • how much money are we to allow our govt to spend/waste on this stupid ****.I wouldnt care if the whole legue use steroids or cocain or any other drugs its not our responsability to determine what they do it is the legues they play for and if it breaks your heart that one of your heroes is on the juice then find another hero.the point is simple to be super human is to be juiced get over it rarely is someone super natural...
  • I will be happy to see A-whole go. He has no moral compass and is a pathological liar. Remember his interfering with the first baseman when he knocked the ball out of his glove in the WS? He insisted that it was part of his natural running motion and kept pantomiming his arms. The shame of it is that he was probably good enough to have succeeded without resorting to PEDs. Yeah, I want my sons to view him as a role model. It's over and he sucks!
  • He sunk his own career by the way of self admitting PED usage. The guy is a true "purple headed warrior", or in plain language, a dick head!!
  • Maybe he should call Lance, Roger, or Barry for advice...
