Remember in late May when I told you someone on eBay was selling a very expensive bike that belonged to Barry Bonds? Yeah, that was the same post where I told you Bonds is becoming something of a cycling freak. Now comes word that Bonds was hanging around in Aspen recently and spending time on his bike in the mountains. How much does he weigh now? The guy in the neon green shirt is 6-5, 185. Bonds was said to be 6-2, 228 in 2007.

This is photo was taken at Independence Pass, which is at 12,095 feet and 20 miles from Aspen.

According to Colorado.com, a rider can expect to ride and elevation gain of 4,187 feet and spend 3.5 hours on the road.

Independence Pass rises to its summit at 12,095 feet. Along the road, watch aspens and evergreens dissolve into one another, and the peaks of the surrounding mountains cut jagged lines against the sky. Ride the route just before its fall closure for an ideal way to see the aspens’ colors change from green to shimmering gold and orange.

At least the guy isn’t bumming around ballparks like Roger Clemens. Barry seems to be acclimating himself into society pretty well now that people don’t actually recognize him.

  • he's going to live a long time!
  • I think it is wonderful that Barry Bonds is acclimating well. I am an avid cyclist who just happens to be a baseball fan. Barry was a Hall of Famer before he started hitting all those home runs. He was just the best of a bad era in the game. I would be proud to ride with him if I ever got the chance. Cheers Barry and i hope you stick with cycling!
  • An old Navyism: "You can't polish a turd." His legacy is crap. He damaged the game and everybody knows he was doing it with "the clear". The fact is that after he beat the record, NOBODY wanted him!! He's a black version of Pete Rose-spending the rest of his life trying to clear his name and trying to make people LIKE him. If he hadn't been such a jerk, it would be truly pathetic.
  • Takes all kinds of pathetic jerks to have something off the wall to say. He is wanted, the team needs him now more than ever. You know it as well as all the others like you.
  • Amazing what getting off the juice does!!! The guy is a farce and ruined the game of baseball. Delete his records!! On top of that, he is an arrogant ass!
  • It amazes me how many people just can't stand that an athlete can be that talented. So they continually condemn them at any cost. Barry Bonds was a hall of famer long before any of the juicing allegations came along. Probably one of the top 5 players of all time. His personality has nothing to do with his performance. I was never a Pirate or Giant fan but I can recognize incredible talent when I see it. Watched him through his entire career. Glad to see he is moving on with his life. (when I stopped competing and lifting on a regular basis, I lost weight also, this is completely normal, especially if you remain physically active)
The supreme court found him innocent of any wrong doing, let it go guys.
  • " Barry Bonds was a hall of famer long before any of the juicing allegations came along." Except that he was dirty long before the allegations started, he just hadn't been caught yet. Ask anyone that was in the league at the time and watched his body double in strength in two years and you will not get a sympathetic comment from any of them.
  • There are all kinds of arrogant asses aren't there.ha
  • off the juice amazing the weight goes way down guilty as charged
  • Same w/Jason Giambi. He was so bulked up, he couldn't even get the bat around w/any speed.Comes off the juice and wa la! his #'s improved. Henry Aaron has been laughing for years at these creeps.'Look at me' he said. 'tall(er) and skinny like Gretzky and we're the numbers leaders'.It's all eye/hand repetitive tasks he said. Joe Maur's Dad made a pvc pipe where a ball on a string would pop out improving his eye/hand coordination. YouTube the phrase 'the greatest golfer you've never heard of'. Same deal.
  • Barry Bonds is simply the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. He has never (not once) failed a drug test. He has 7 MVP awards (no one in any other sport has that). The best slugging percentage in history and the most home runs. How much better can he get?
  • I remember reading a Sports Illustrated article about the Cactus League, and some people and their children had waited all morning long in the hot Arizona sun for a chance to get Bonds' autograph. When he arrived, Bonds, in his typical, surly, I'm better than you fashion, told the people waiting for him," You guys need to get a life". Wow!! This was after refusing to sign for autographs. I'll never wish him well, or be happy for anything this scumbag does!
  • The best there ever was==on juice!

Switch pitcher could see action in MLB

29-year-old New York Yankees minor leaguer Pat Venditte normally wouldn’t be a player worth noticing. He’s been in the minors for the past seven seasons after the Yankees selected him in the 45th round of the 2007 amateur draft.  On the surface, Venditte is nothing more than your non-prospect who has bounced around in small towns in an attempt to make it to the Majors. That’s...
