All hail the King This was originally going to be a piece about Eric Thames first home run as a Seattle Mariner, but since I couldn’t find any video coverage of it this late, I thought I’d go to the old stand-by, Felix Hernandez. In one of his best outings in the bigs, King Felix went 9 innings strong in the Bronx, giving up two hits en route to a complete game shutout of the Yankees. With his numbers in Yankee stadium getting better with every start there, one can only assume the Yankees will come calling about his availability soon enough. The Mariners have the pieces in place to have a damn good rotation in the future with Hernandez, Jason Vargas, Danny Hultzen, and Taijuan Walker, plus throw in Blake Beavan, and this is what winning teams are made of. But that is a story for the future, this is a story for now. Felix Hernandez doing what he does best! Is there another Cy Young Award in this arm?
