Despite the PED allegation surrounding him, Gio Gonzalez will pitch for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.  Gonzalez had a fantastic year last season and was asked to participate by Joe Torre himself. According to Team USA's twitter account, Gonzalez has accepted the invitation. BREAKING: @nationals SP Gio Gonzalez has accepted invitation to play for #TeamUSA in the @wbcbaseball. Welcome @giogonzalez47. — USABaseball (@USABaseball) February 9, 2013 As the Washington Nationals took the American League East by storm, Gonzalez stepped up as an ace to compliment Stephen Strasburg in the rotation.  Gonzalez went 21-8 with a 2.89 ERA last season.  He finished third in National League Cy Young voting and earned a trip to the All-Star Game. Gonzalez was recently linked to the PED scandal at Biogenesis in Miami.  Gonzalez's name appeared in the ledgers among those linked to the clinic's PED distribution.
