In Haren’s last start on Saturday he went 3 1/3 innings allowing seven hits and six runs. Haren has struggled this season since signing a one-year $13 million contract over the winter. Overall Haren has a 4-9 record, a 6.15 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. The Nationals are planning on having him back around the All-Star break. Tyler Moore has been called up to take his spot on the active roster and eventually the Nationals figure to call up Taylor Jordan to fill his rotation spot. Jordan has a 1.00 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP across two levels of the minors. He most recently has been pitching at Double-A Harrisburg where he has a 0.83 ERA and holds a 43/9 K/BB ratio.

D-backs' visit Nats with Haren deal lookin' good

It's funny how things turn out. The Nationals are expected to place Dan Haren on the disabled list Tuesday with right shoulder stiffness, three days after he gave up six earned runs in 3 13 innings in a loss to the Rockies that pushed his ERA to 6.15. Haren is not convinced his shoulder is an issue, telling the Washington Post, "I don't know. What'd they say?"...

Someone needs to get Jayson Werth a drink of water

The sun rises, the sun sets, and Jayson Werth suffers another injury due to...dehydration? Up above, Jayson Werth giving the cut sign to the Nats dugout after his base hit in the fourth inning. "I think it’s a situation where I’ve been kind of sick the last couple of days, haven’t really eaten a whole lot, probably pretty dehydrated." (Jayson Werth, via Washington...

Bryce Harper will begin rehab assignment with Class A Potomac on Tuesday

And so, after Davey Johnson and Bryce Harper famously differed in opinon on the timetable for Harper's first rehab start over the weekend, it seems Harper's take-it-slow stance has changed. Maybe Harper was inspired by the Bobblehead Day crowd? Regardless, he'll start Tuesday night for the P-Nats. Good for the P-Nats, who missed out on the Harper-Strasburg...

Washington Nationals: Bryce Harper to begin rehab in Potomac on Tuesday

Good news for Washington Nationals fans everywhere, Bryce Harper is starting his comeback. Starting Tuesday, Harper will begin rehab at Class A Potomac. This is early even in Harper’s opinion. Nationals' Jayson Werth groin injury could linger

Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth recently returned from a hamstring injury, and he's now hampered by a groin ailment. The slugger expects to rejoin the Nationals' lineup tomorrow, but Sports Chiropractor Dr. Ray Solano cautions that the injuries could linger and require another stint on the disabled list if not treated properly. Jayson Werth is hoping to...

Zimmermann quiets D-backs in Nationals' 3-2 win

Jordan Zimmermann is staying away from any discussion about whether he should be part of the NL All-Star team, let alone the starting pitcher. That's fine. His numbers are doing the talking for him. Zimmermann dominated after a shaky start and rookie Anthony Rendon had his third three-hit performance as the Washington Nationals defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 on Wednesday...

Dude from 80′s Movie Karate Kid is Wearing a Washington Nationals Hat?

The Squirrel was on high alert yesterday when he sent over a picture of this dude rocking a Nationals hat in the Karate Kid. Well, it just so happens that the previous franchise in Washington – the Senators – rocked a similar W so we may have to give this guy even more credit for rocking a Washington Senators hat. Karate Kid just pulling out all the stops even in wardrobe.

Rendon, Zimmermann Power Nats To Series-Winning Triumph Over Dbacks

“Outstanding” hasn’t been a word manager Davey Johnson has been often attributing to games played by his Washington Nationals (39-38) as they have labored to float their record above .500. But on Wednesday night, outstanding is exactly the word Johnson used to describe their 3-2 victory over the leaders of the NL West, the Arizona Diamondbacks (41-36), in a game that secured...

Nationals rumors: Washington could seek rotation upgrade

Entering the season, it would have seemed foolish to suggest the Washington Nationals would eventually be in the market for rotation assistance this summer. Impressive young arms Jordan Zimmermann, Stephen Strasburg and Ross Detwiler and Cy Young Award-candidate Gio Gonzalez were joined by former ace Dan Haren. However, following Haren's move to the disabled list, the Nationals...

A Look Inside The Nationals Archive

When I decided I wanted to write this post on The Nationals Archive, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to say about them or how I was going to say it, but I knew I wanted to learn more about the site that everyone in NatsTown, from fans to players to media, has started to notice. Earlier this week, I asked questions of The Archive’s eight members, and while I didn’t directly...
