The Washington Nationals are expected to place reliever Doug Slaten on the disabled list.
Manager Jim Riggleman told the Washington Post that he feared the lefthander was ailing, but did not divulge the specific injury.
The 31-year-old Slaten has posted an 0-1 mark with two holds and a 2.19 ERA in 23 appearances this season.
Craig Stammen is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to take his roster spot.
